2007 Arizona Deer Association Banquet

On April 7th, the Arizona Deer Association held its 11th Annual Fundraising Banquet, one of its most successful fundraising banquets ever.  We would like to thank the attendees, donors, and committee members for making it happen.  Please take a look at the impressive list of our live auction donors at the bottom of this page.  We encourage you support the people who are supporting the Arizona Deer Association.

A few deer from the ADA deer display that was up at the banquet.

Always of special interest is the state of Arizona Special Commissioners’ tag auction.  We sold the mule deer tag for $120,000, making it the highest selling tag of any big game species for 2007.  The special Coues’ whitetail tag sold for $26,000, which made it the highest selling Coues’ tag anywhere, and almost exceeded our all-time record of $28,000 from 2003.

Silent auction items were very popular!

Along with the special tags, we sold a Marco Polo sheep hunt for $30,000, a mule deer rack from the Arizona Game and Fish Department for $22,000 and an Alaskan brown bear hunt for $15,000.  In addition to the quality hunts, original artwork, expensive jewelry, camping equipment and custom knives were all auctioned that evening.  All together the special auction and auction netted in excess of $225,000.   When added to the silent auction and raffle proceeds, the auction funds gave the ADA one of its highest net banquets ever.

We also gave out our Jamison Conservation Award to two special people, USFS employee Frank Hayes and AGFD commissioner Joe Melton.  Frank has been doing some outstanding habitat improvement projects in eastern Arizona and Joe Melton has served sportsmen very well while serving his term on the AGFD commission.

Congratulations Mr. Hayes (left photo) and Mr. Melton (right photo)! (click on photos to see larger images)

Our 2008 Annual Fundraising Banquet has already been confirmed for May 10thOnce again, we will be at the Chaparral Suites Resort in Scottsdale.  May 10th is the day before Mothers’ Day and we invite you to come and bring the ladies.  We are making some very special plans to honor the ladies in our lives.

Mark your calendars now for the ADA 2008 Banquet. We are planning some unique changes in our entire banquet structure designed to make our banquet more interesting, fun, and memorable.  We will also be limiting the number of seats for the banquet and offering some special incentives to those of you who sign up early.  As the year progresses, look for special notices and mailings about the 2008 ADA banquet.

Once again, THANK YOU, for supporting the Arizona Deer Association!
