12th annual Arizona Deer Association Banquet and Fundraising Auction
Our 2008 banquet was a wonderful success. The banquet was held at Chaparral Suites Resort in Scottsdale on May 10, 2008. Doors opened at 4 pm and everyone enjoyed a prime rib dinner at 5:30 pm. We had a little over 400 people attend the banquet and we netted about $221,000 for wildlife projects in Arizona!
We had so many great live and silent auction items that it's impossible to cover them all here. Take a look at the list of great live auction items and also excellent the silent auction items we had lined up! Here are just a few of the exciting adventures that we auctioned off: African safaris, a fishing trip in Costa Rica, an Idaho river rafting trip, a summer horse pack trip in Montana, a Wild Boar hunt in Texas, a tandem skydive in Arizona, a San Carlos Coues deer tag, a Coues deer hunt in Mexico, and so much more. We also had our first-ever all-gun raffle. With over 50 guns, that was a big hit. And we had some fine items for the ladies in honor of Mother's Day. Each woman received a complimentary chocolate rose when she entered the banquet hall. We also had a special basket filled with a genuine Coach wallet, a blue topaz and diamond necklace, a $400 gift certificate to Dillard's, chocolates, and a stuffed animal. That basket was raffled-off for only $20 per raffle ticket! In the silent auction we had several pieces of Swarovski jewelry and we also had a weekend get-away at a Becoming an Outdoorswoman workshop in Prescott.
The special commissioner's mule deer tag auctioned for $126,000! And the special commissioner's Coues deer tag went for $24,000. In addition to those tags, we had many fine hunts available.
