Cactus Buck

When the thoughts of big mule deer come to mind, most people think of alpine basins and pinyon covered rim rock as the home of these magnificent animals. However, a different kind of mule deer exists. In this one of a kind bronze sculpture, created for the Arizona Deer Association, wildlife artist Jason Lewis captures the awesome grace and beauty of a desert mule deer. This sculpture is a true one of a kind, no mold was made, which means there is no numbered edition. This is the only one in the universe. A true collector'item. Those of you who have crept through the mesquite flats, and glassed the prickly pear ridges of southern Arizona know the thrill of catching a glimpse of a "Cactus Buck"...

The Grey Ghost of the Desert

Those of you who have been in pursuit of the Arizona Coues Deer, know how these little deer can elude even the most seasoned of hunters. In this one of a kind bronze sculpture, by wildlife artist, Jason Lewis, a handsome coues buck is surveying his surroundings. This sculpture is mounted on a custom made black walnut base. It would be a distinctive addition to any private or coorperate art collection. No edition was made of this sculpture. It was created for the Arizona Deer Association's 2009 banquet.  This sculpture is a reminder of the striking beauty and crafty nature of "The Grey Ghost Of the Desert".

Jason Lewis Custom Bronze Sculpture

This is a custom-made bronze sculpture by wildlife artist Jason Lewis. The winning bidder has the rare opportunity to "dream up" their own bronze sculpture. Have you taken a great trophy bighorn sheep? How about a Cape buffalo or some other great animal while on safari in Africa?  Have the artist create a bronze sculpture of that trophy to scale. Do you have a set of shed antlers that are special to you? Is there a fond memory of a special hunt with a Grandpa? Re-create it in bronze. There is no limit to the subject matter.  Jason will work closely with you to sketch the composition, then he will consult with you through the entire process, that includes the "lost wax" casting at the foundry.  Jason has agreed to assist the Arizona Deer Association with this auction item. As a general guide, Jason will provide an artwork with an estimated valued of $500.00 over the highest bid. For example, if the high bid is $2,000.00, Jason will deliver a sculpture with an estimated worth of $2,500.00. Jason also guarantees the sculpture to be delivered by Christmas, 2009. This is your opportunity to help create a family heirloom that will be passed down for generations to come.
