Unit 37 B Water Project - March 2010
Unit 37B Wildlife Manager Ben Brochu has been working hard to increase water availability for Mule Deer in the unit and the AZ Deer Association is supporting that work financially and with volunteers. Two of these water catchments were constructed in 2009 and now this one is the third one in a series of 7 planned catchments. In addition to AGFD personnel, the cooperators on the project include: Arizona Deer Association, Mule Deer Foundation, AZ Chapter of SCI, Arizona State Land Department and CouesWhitetail.com. There was a great volunteer turnout with 27 people participating, working 244 hours and driving 1900 miles between everyone, Amazing! Ben fed everyone on Saturday night and Sunday morning with excellent food. Four more projects to go in the next few years. So if you are interested in participating, contact Ben Brochu so that you get on his email list for projects.
