Squirrel Hunting Camp   Oct 1-3, 2010

The Arizona Deer Association, Mogollon Sportsmen Association and AGFD are teaming up to provide a unique camp where you can not only hunt squirrels, but you can learn many other outdoor skills.

Activities that will be offered during the weekend workshop are;

·         Fishing in rim country lakes - learn how to fish for trout with experienced fishermen.

·         Wildlife/nature hikes - spend time in the field with biologists learning about the plants and animals of the area and looking for birds and other animals.

·         Setting up a safe camp – what food to bring, how to store it and how to keep unwanted wildlife visitors out or your area.

·         Or try a hunt for squirrels – learn techniques for hunting squirrel and how to properly care for bagged animals in the field.

Campers must bring their own camping gear and hunting or fishing license if they plan on pursuing those activities. Bring plenty of water. Food will be provided. Other suggested gear for participants to bring is a good pair of binoculars and field guides. This free workshop will be offered October 1-3 at Colcord Campground. Space will be limited to 50 participants. To register call Henry Apfel at (928) 476-6426 or Scott Streich at (602) 369-0713.

For more information call Scott Streich at (602) 369-0713
