Coon Canyon Trick Tank Project

Looking for a place to cool off!  How about Region 1, southwest of Eagar AZ on the weekend of July 16 & 17.

This is a cooperative project with the US Forest Service, 26 BAR Ranch (Hopi Tribe), Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, National Wild Turkey Federation and the Arizona Deer Association.  Funding for this project is being provided by the RMEF, NWTF and the ADA.

This is a redevelopment of an important existing wildlife water.  Primary species of benefit are ELK, DEER, TURKEY and JAVELINA (yes I did say Javelina).

Volunteers are needed to help install a new apron, tank and drinker.

ADBSS Master projects builder / supervisor Dean Bowdoin will be coordinating the work!

There is plenty of work to be done!  If you want to come up early and enjoy the cool weather you are encouraged to do so!  Materials will be delivered on Thursday and work will begin on Friday morning.

Directions:  EASY TO GET TO!!!!!  JUST OFF HWY 261!!!!!  ONLY 15 - 20 MINUTES FROM EAGAR.

On Hwy 260 turn south at the junction of Hwy 261 (Big Lake Highway, be advised, some maps show this as road 273),  proceed approximately 2 miles to FS Road 61, turn right and follow the signs to the project (approximately 1 mile). 4WD is not needed this is a short easy road!

There is plenty of room to camp near the project or you can run back in to Eagar or Springerville if you need a motel and restaurant.  Plenty of them are available and it's only a few minutes to town.

This is a Family Friendly Project and you are encouraged to bring all of them along!

If you have questions please call Pete Cimellaro at 602-840-8749

Hope to see a bunch of you up there!!!!!!!!!!
