I. Welcome and Call to order The president called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm. Motion: to donate $1000 to Young Life in memory of Michael Bool. By: Chris Denham Seconded: Rick Miller Action: Motion carried

II. News from Game and Fish The Kaibab update will take place at the March meeting; send any questions to Leonard Ordway so that responses can be prepared. The hunt recommendations are in process now and two weeks prior to the commission meeting will be available for public comment. The Arizona mule deer tag sold for $122,000, the Utah tag for $185,000. At the state HPC meeting, the discussion centered on the $12 million settlement from the La Osa lawsuit; $2.8 million was specifically earmarked for Game and Fish to be used for the Silver Bells sheep herd and to recoup expenses for the disease outbreak in this herd. It appears that the legislature is attempting to take all this money into the general fund, which will result in a loss of $15 to $20 million in matching federal funds. Some other items for discussion by the commission are: whether the 3-Bar will be open for hunting; baiting for cervids to be outlawed. The OHV bill has been heard by the Legislative subcommittee. Senator Grey agreed to carry the bill, which has many backers including the Sierra Club and Nature Conservancy. III.
