Board of Directors Meeting

 Meeting called to order at 6:35 p.m.

Phone call to Blaine Bickford @ 6:40 p.m.

Blaine reported youth raffle ticket sales are down.  We have only sold about 30% of goal.

He suggested we plan more for youth projects, and all get more involved. Blaine also suggested that the annual meeting be on Friday or Saturday and to try to get more people involved.

Bob Birkeland reports the G&F Dept. performs deer surveys between January 1 & February 15.  Rich C needs volunteers to help with surveys, forage and land usage.  Helicopter surveys will start being done every year by the G&F instead of every other year.

Stan also provided a Power Point presentation outlining the major concerns for mule deer.

Permits have dropped from 93,000 to 48,000.

Above rim 27% high/26% more

Goal is to GPS collar 15-20 mule deer (does only)

Each collar will record 5 area points a day.

Collar 5-8 does in 4A to document movements in a current condition forest

Minimum of 20 does collared in the rodeo burn

-50 person days to help surveys December – February 15

Stan also distributed a breakdown on case deer study, which asks for funding.

 

Treasurer’s Report

 

·        Craig D. needs inventory of ADA trailer

·         Kevin Harris moved, Bob Davies seconded to approve Treasurer’s Report.  Motion carried.

 

Habitat

 

·         G&F Department just received its first payment from Indian gaming $2,900,000.

 

Youth Program

 

·         We need help recruiting people to help on youth committee

 

Website

 

·         No Report.

 

Banquet

 

·        Tracey M. will send an invitation to all the G&F commissioners to attend this years banquet gratis.

·        191 banquet tickets sold so far.

·        John Brishky moved, Scott Gorczyca seconded, that the ADA send $1,000 to Buckskin Chapter for their banquet needs.  Motion carried.

·        Todd J. recommended meeting every week until the banquet.

·        Bob D. reports menu costs will be $16.50 by Continental Catering

·        C.C. Concessions to tend the bar. 

 

Old Business

 

·        Trailer logo will be done next month.

·        Status of horns - Kevin H. reports he will get horns next weeks.  Kevin H. has all the taxidermists lined up, but will need help delivering them.

 

New Business

 

·        Pete Cimellaro moved, Bob Davies seconded to approve $500 for annual membership for W.C.C.  Motion carried.

·        Pete C. reported on the progress of devising standards for the Jim Jamison Award, which the Association hopes to present annually. 

  

Secretary

 

·        Bob Davies moved, Kevin Harris seconded, to approve minutes of the December meeting.  Motion carried.

 

Chapter Affliation

 

·        Pete C. reported that the Special Issue coues deer tag sold for $9,500 at the Arizona Chapter of SCI's January banquet.

  

There being no further business to discuss, the meeting adjourned at 10:28 p.m.
