Minutes ADA June 2009 Board Meeting

6:30  - Call to order

Approve minutes:  Brad Freitag moved,  Amanda Moors seconded, to approve the minutes as presented.

 Treasurer’s Report:  John Koleszar moved, Pete Cimellaro seconded, to approve the treasurer’s report as presented.

 Annual election of officers and board: Amanda Moors moved, Mike Lechter seconded, to approve the slate as presented.

 Bylaws Changes: Pete Cimellaro moved, John Koleszar seconded, to approve the changes as presented. 

Guest Speakers:

• Jim deVos – Reviewed G&F hunt guidelines and presented ADA recommendations for new deer hunt guidelines.  Discussed the opportunity to attend a workshop with G&F on the Kaibab.

New Business:

• Adopt a Ranch – John Koleszar will review ranches to determine a ranch for ADA to adopt.  The board has agreed to continue to move forward with this project.
• John Koleszar has been appointed to a AZGFD land owner access committee.

Banquet:

• Will do one last postcard mailing and e-mail letter.

Youth Committee:

• Will run a camp in 23 and 3C this year.
• Obtained new sponsors for the youth trailer.
• Youth committee meeting scheduled for July 14^th.

Deer Times:

• Nothing to Report.

Tag Request Letter – this has been sent; we are requesting the same tags as we did last year.

Game and Fish:

• G&F is reviewing the conservation bonus point again.
• August 10^th meeting on Kaibab with G&F to discuss Kaibab Projects.

Legislature:

• Discussed a merger between the AZSFWC and the WCC
• Motion to approve ADA board recommendation to support merger.  Amanda Moors moved,  Brad Freitag seconded, to support merger.  Pete Cimellaro abstained.

Public Relations: - Nothing to Report

Conservation Partners: - Nothing to Report.
