I. The President called the meeting to order at 6:33 pm

II. Minutes from Febuary

Chris Denham moved, Amanda Moors seconded, to approve the minutes of the February meeting. Vote all Ayes

III. Treasurer’s Report

Chris Denham moved, Pete Cimellaro seconded, to table until next meeting. Vote all ayes

III. Guest speakers from AZ GFD were Leonard Ordway, Ron Sieg, and Brian Wakeling. They shared tons of information about the Kaibab buck and doe weights and browse available on the range. Also discussed was the habitat work going on and the GFD recommendations for the upcoming hunts. Discussion followed.

Ray Tanner, landowner in the Tonto National Forest, asked the ADA for information on how he can build the deer and elk herds on his land. ADA offered him contact information for people who might be able to assist his needs.

Ed Ruiz, of Gambino’s in Sonora Mexico, shared his brochures and flyers trying to gain business and tell the ADA about his services in Mexico. It was suggested that he donate a hunt to the ADA fundraiser to gain more exposure for his business.

Old Business

Discussion about the presentation from AZGFD. Chris Denham moved, Amanda Moors seconded, that the ADA support 200 doe permits on the Kaibab. Voted All Ayes

Membership-  427 paid members

Habitat-  Pete shared the unit 10 Martin Dam project. Chris Denham moved, Pete Cimellaro seconded, to support this project with an allocation of $5000.00. Vote all Ayes

Game and Fish

The Hunters Clinic is scheduled for September 12 at the Mountain Preserve Reception Center. Chris Denham moved, Pete Cimellaro seconded, to allocate up to $2200.00 for the reception center costs. Vote all Ayes

Newsletter was being sent out as we met.

Youth No Report

WCC House Bill number 2127 10% cap was in rules committee in the senate.

Bill 1300 not heard in rules at meeting time.

Website Amanda shared with us the number of hits on the survey put out by the ADA. The number was 4710 at the meeting.

Banquet much work continuing.

New Business

Chris Denham moved, Amanda Moors seconded, to provide $2000.00 to support Jim Bedlion’s lion removal efforts north of the river. Vote all ayes

Pete Cimellaro moved, Todd Julian seconded, to write a letter of support for the Clear Creek land swap. Vote all Ayes

Pete Cimellaro moved, Todd Julian seconded, that the ADA donate $200.00 to the poachers case. After discussion, the board voted to table this issue until more information on the case becomes available.

Pete Cimellaro moved, Chris Denham seconded, to enter into an agreement with ISE for the year 2007. Vote all Ayes.

Jameson Award

Two men eligible for this award: Frank Hays, Clifton District Forester Morenci, and

Hays Gilstrap retiring AZGFD commissioner.

Chris Denham moved, Todd Julian seconded, to present the award to Hays Gilstrap. Vote all ayes.

There being no further business to discuss, the meeting adjourned at 10:23 pm.
