Arizona Deer Association
News and Announcements

The Arizona Deer Association is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization dedicated to preserving deer and deer habitat in the state of Arizona.

Our 2012 Fundraiser raised close to $200,000 for Arizona's deer herds!  Most of that money goes directly back to the AZ Game and Fish Dept and is allocated to habitat improvement projects through the Habitat Partnership Committee. For more information on the Habitat Partnership Committee, please visit this link.

Do you have an opinion on the HB2072 that was recently proposed by Arizona Sportsmen for Wildlife?  The Arizona Deer Association recently mailed a survey to all our membership and we asked that all members take the time to complete the survey and mail it back to us to help guide the future direction of the ADA as related to this issue.  If you are a member and did not receive a survey, please call 480-854-8950.

WOLF REINTRODUCTION PROGRAM : Please read this letter from President John Koleszar regarding the wolf reintroduction program.

The ADA has been working with AGFD to develop better forage monitoring on the Kaibab mule deer winter range.  AGFD came to our board meeting recently to give an update and here is a PDF of the powerpoint presentation that lead research biologist Steven Rosenstock presented.  The measurements they took this past year indicate the winter range is in good condition.

Read a lot more about our combined efforts with AGFD to improve deer management on the Kaibab.

Important News for Arizona's Deer Herds :  The Arizona Deer Association successfully worked to increase buck:doe ratios for Arizona's Deer Herds in the AGFD Hunt Guidelines set during the Aug 2011 AGFD Commission Meeting. To learn more, please read the President's Message.

2011 Winner's posted!!  Thank you to all who bought tickets to support wildlife conservation in Arizona.

Thank you to the many volunteers who helped complete the Connor water catchment in April!!  We had a tremendous turnout and this project will help Arizona wildlife!

Looking for a way to get involved?  We need people like you who are willing to get involved.  Some exciting opportunities include helping our youth hunters at the ADA sponsored youth camps and helping to raise money for wildlife habitat projects as well as working on those habitat projects.
Email our President, John Koleszar, for more information
